The Idaho State Board of Education has launched its newly expanded Opportunity Scholarship.

Adults who dropped out of school are eligible for up to $3,500 dollars a year for four years to attend classes full or part-time.

The legislature increased funding last session to this program to try and get more adults to earn their degree.

“The Opportunity Scholarship has been great for Idaho, and the Board is excited to be able to offer it to adults now too,” State Board President Dr. Linda Clark said.  “This new website has everything a person needs to submit their application smoothly and quickly to potentially receive the scholarship in time for the fall semester.”

To qualify for the scholarship, you must be an Idaho resident who has not attended higher education for two or more years.

Applicants must have earned 24 credits or more before "stopping out" of college or a career technical program and had a minimum GPA of 2.7.
