One injured after officer involved shooting

Posted
An Owyhee County Deputy and a Homedale police officer responded to a welfare check at a residence on Montana street around 3 p.m this afternoon.

Upon arrival, police say a man in his mid-thirties came out of the house and displayed a weapon.
Officers say at one point shots were fired.
The male subject was taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus in Boise.

Although the number of people home at the time of the incidence is unknown, police say children were present at the home at the time of the shooting.

"The welfare check was called in by the mother of one of the children at the residence. That was the reason for the civil standby," said Sheriff Perry Grant of the Owyhee County Sheriffs Office.

The condition of the main is unknown at this time.
