RIGBY, Idaho — A man is in custody following a shooting in Rigby Sunday afternoon.
It happened around noon on Ashlyn Way, according to Rigby Police Chief Allen Fullmer. The incident is currently under investigation, so few details are available, but Fullmer tells EastIdahoNews.com two men were involved in a dispute at a house.
The conflict escalated, and one of the men fired a gun.
“The victim was shot in the doorway of the residence,” Fullmer says. “He was treated at the scene and then pronounced dead at the scene.”
Fullmer says the suspect is in custody, but charges are pending until the investigation is complete. The names of the suspect and victim are not being released while the investigation is underway.
Idaho State Police is involved in the investigation, along with the Rexburg Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
