20-year-old identified in deadly Chinden crash

The Ada County Coroner's Office has identified a 20-year-old Meridian man who died after crashing a vehicle into a traffic light pole at Chinden Boulevard and Highway 16.

20-year-old Jeremy Saunders, of Meridian was discovered near the wreckage at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning.

Deputies believe that the Saunders was headed westbound on Chinden Boulevard in a 1996 Ford Thunderbird at a high rate of speed when the vehicle traveled across the intersection and hit the pole on the northwest corner.

Police are still investigating.
