The Idaho State Police is looking who anyone who may have witnessed a three-vehicle fatality crash in Washington County Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of US Highway 95 and Cahill Lane (at milepost 74.8) near Weiser.
Police say Marriah Petersen, 38, of Emmett, was driving northbound in a 2002 Dodge pickup. Mary Nobbs, 37, of Weiser, was driving southbound in a 2012 Toyota Yaris. Samantha Myers, 26, of Weiser, was driving also southbound in a 2011 Chevy Impala, behind Nobbs.
“Petersen failed to maintain control, crossed the center line, and struck both Nobbs’ and Myers’ vehicles. Myers and Nobbs were wearing seatbelts. Petersen was not wearing a seatbelt,” according to an ISP news release.
Myers and Petersen were taken by ground ambulance to the Weiser Memorial Hospital. No word yet on their conditions.
Nobbs was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of the highway were blocked for about three hours.
