One dead after crash on I-84 in Nampa

NAMPA, Idaho — A pickup truck driver is dead after crashing into a parked car on the shoulder of I-84 Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened around 1:15 p.m. near the eastbound Franklin Road exit.

According to Idaho State Police, an adult male driving a 2018 Ford pickup veered towards the median shoulder and hit a 2006 Buick Rainier. The Buick driver, 35-year-old Rosita Martinez Lopez and the passenger, 57-year-old Sebastian Trujilla Varona were transported by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus in Nampa. A third passenger from the Buick and the passenger from the Ford, 82-year-old Grayhl Johnson were also transported to Saint Alphonsus.

The driver of the Ford, who has not been named, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Everyone involved were wearing seat belts.

The far left lane of I-84 was blocked for about two hours while crews investigated.
