Nothing says summer is over quite like the last day of float season on the Boise River.

People from all over the Treasure Valley and even neighboring states gathered to float the river one last time to end the official float season.

"It's the last day of the season, so we've done it twice so far this year and we've got to make it on the last day," says Meridian resident, Katie Van Atta.

People set out on your average tube or raft, and some even headed out in style.

"I'm floating the Boise River with my flamingo!"

But the boise river has so much more to offer than a relaxing float, kids say they love the rope swing and the rapids.

While labor day marks the official last day of float season, you can still float the river, as long as you've got your own flamingo or raft. Just keep in mind the shuttles are no longer running after Monday.
