Officers responded to "reckless driver" in Nampa, driver is now in the hospital

One person is in the hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Nampa.

Officers say they observed a reckless driver in a dark-colored pickup traveling northbound on 11th Ave. N in the area of Garrity Blvd. Police say the driver was driving speeds "in excess of 80 mph" and was crossing barriers.

An officer had attempted to stop the vehicle, but the officer was unable to catch up to the vehicle and lost sight of it.

Nampa Officers found the vehicle with one man unconscious inside. Police say the car hit a business sign and then a large tree. The man, about 30-40 years old, has been transported to a Boise hospital.

The male’s identity is unknown and it unknown if his injuries are life-threatening.
