BOISE — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Saint Alphonsus is pulling out all the stops to help the community.

The mobile mammography units provide mammograms on wheels. The two units travel across Idaho, especially stopping at under-served areas. The units are staffed my mammography techs inside the mobile unit patients can receive a mammogram in just about 20 minutes. They see up to 25 patients a day on the mobile unit.

“We want to rule out the scary stereotype that it used to be, they’re not scary they’re quick they’re easy, take care of yourself, is my favorite part of this," said mammographer Natalie O'Brien.

The mobile mammography unit will be at the Idaho Fitness Fair on October 5.
