The Twin Falls County Sheriff Office reports a Nevada man was injured after falling off a ledge in the canyon near the Perrine Bridge. A Sheriff's Deputy witnessed an SUV pull into the parking lot at Outback Steakhouse at a high rate of speed. The SUV spun 180 degrees and at that point the deputy pulled in to investigate.

David Geul of Sparks, Nevada then ran from the SUV toward the safety wall near the canyon. Geul jumped the wall and then fell from a small ledge he was standing on. He landed nearly 50 feet below and hit his head on the rocks.

He remained conscious and responded to rescuers who arrived on scene. A rescuer repelled down and lifted him to safety, he was taken to a local hospital.

The Sheriff's office said Geul was not suicidal and they don't know why he ran. They are continuing to investigate.
