Republican Sen. Jeff Flake tweeted Tuesday that he had written a check to the campaign of Democratic Sen. Doug Jones.

Flake posted a photo of a personal check he had written for $100, to be paid to "Doug Jones for U.S. Senate."

The caption simply read "Country over Party."

Flake's tweet comes less than 24 hours after President Donald Trump fully endorsed Republican candidate Roy Moore, despite allegations that Moore sexually abused teen girls in the 1970s and '80s.

The Republican National Committee said it will again begin contributing to Moore's campaign, after pulling funding when the allegations against Moore broke last month.

Flake, a vocal critic of President Trump's wing of the Republican party, announced in October he would not seek re-election for his Senate seat.
