BOISE — Do you remember pi from math class that 3.14159 number that goes on forever and has been used by civilizations going back thousands of years to find the area and circumference of a circle?

March 14th is National Pi day and we found that pi has turned into a food holiday in Boise, but the number also carries a special meaning for the owner of Pi Baby Boutique.

"My husband and I had quadruplets on the ultimate Pi Day as they call it, March 14, 2015," said Heather Weavers. "So 3.14.15 my husband is an engineer so every year he would say Happy Pi Day as a joke and I was like you are such a nerd, but I guess the jokes one me."

Pi Baby Boutique hosted a pie eating contest and several giveaways including a stroller, a $500 gift card and a dockatot as part of what Weavers called their biggest day of the year.

In downtown Boise Kiwi Shake & Bake held their grand opening, this restaurant sells meat pies from New Zealand, they were described to us as a pastry filled with meat and gravy.

"I've lived in Boise for fifteen years and I'm dying to have a meat pie," said Debbie Cook who is from Australia. "No one can make a meat pie that is why it's pretty awesome that they are here, this is heaven."

Flying Pie Pizzaria, a local staple showed us how they make their signature triple pie pizza as they celebrated Pi Day.
