Around 1:12 p.m. on Dec. 4, Nampa Police responded to stabbing at Columbia High School.
According to police, the incident occurred in the student parking lot of the high school just after a break in classes.
The students involved were a male and female, both 17 years old.
Nampa Police say a male attacked the female with a knife, then another student intervened and stopped the attack.
Officers responded to the parking lot where they located and arrested the male.
In a press release, Nampa Police said the two students involved had been in a prior relationship, and and there is no threat to any other students or faculty at the school at this time.
According to police, the male was transported to the Southwest Idaho Juvenile Detention Center and charged with attempted murder. The female was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
