Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling is seeking applications to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Nampa Public Library Board of Trustees.

The position is being vacated by Debra Holm who has served on the board for nine years.

The individual appointed will serve a five-year term beginning January 1, 2019.

Board meetings are held at the library on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. and typically last just over an hour.

Five appointed library board members oversee the library director and set the library budget under the direction of the City Council.

They also work with library staff in evaluating and updating library policies and in approving new policies.

After being appointed by Mayor Debbie Kling, and confirmed by the Nampa City Council, the appointee's first official board meeting would be January 8, 2019.
