Members from the Nampa Police Department Bomb Squad assisted the Oregon State Police, Malheur County Sheriff’s Office and Nyssa Police Department after a suspicious device was discovered at Umpqua Bank in Nyssa, Oregon.

According to Chief of Police Raymond K. Rau, a janitor reported a suspicious device that had been left on a chair overnight to the bank manager.

The bank manager contacted Chief Rau at 8:30 am before the bank was open and he observed a small round device with various multicolored wires and electrical tape surrounding what appeared to be a battery.

Rau contacted various agencies and sent several photos of the device to the Nampa Police Department Bomb Technician who advised that they would come investigate.

The device was removed and dismantled without incident and Oregon authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from December 3rd to pinpoint a suspect.
