A Nampa man was booked into the Canyon County Jail after police say he led them on a pursuit -- with a blood alcohol content of more than four times the legal limit.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. Monday, Canyon County dispatch received two 9-1-1 calls about a possibly intoxicated driver near Homedale Road and Crystal Lane. The callers reported the vehicle was crossing into oncoming traffic and nearly hit a passing motorist head-on.

Deputies located the vehicle near Homedale and Chicken Dinner Roads and tried to stop it, but the driver sped away.

Deputies deployed spike strips on Orchard Avenue, east of South Florida Avenue, and brought the pursuit to an end, with help from Nampa and Caldwell Police officers.

Matthew Huck, 29, of Nampa, was taken into custody.

Investigators say he had a blood alcohol content more than four times the legal limit of .08.

Huck was booked into the Canyon County Jail and is expected to be charged with excessive DUI and eluding police, both felonies.
