Three men apply for Nampa police chief

The city of Nampa announced on Monday that three men, all with ties to the department, have applied to be the next chief of police.

Canyon County Deputy Chief Brad Daniels, Lt. Joe Huff and Lt. Joe Ramirez have all applied to become the next head of Nampa's police department.

Daniels served for 21 years with Nampa P.D. and 5 years with the Canyon County Sheriff's office. Huff has worked for 22 years in law enforcement and has been a lieutenant since 2009. Ramirez has been with Nampa P.D. for 17 years and was recently appointed to lieutenant. 

The three men are vying for the chief's job vacated by Craig Kingsbury who has left to become the Chief of Police for Twin Falls. Kingsbury's last day will be December 17th. The Nampa City Council can approve the appointment on January 4th after a recommendation by Mayor Bob Henry.
