BOISE, Idaho — Treasure Valley residents can meet legendary Motown singer/songwriter, record producer, and music executive Smokey Robinson face-to-face when he appears at the Albertsons store on Broadway Avenue in Boise and the Albertsons Market Street store in Meridian on Saturday, December 21st.

He’s appearing at the stores for a wine tasting and bottle signing of his “Smokey Robinson Wines.”

Robinson introduced “Smokey Robinson Wines” last year and is the sole owner of his brand. The wines are being produced by winemaker Matt Smith of Grapeseed Wine Fund, where he is co-founder and head of winemaking. Smith’s winemaking career includes David Bruce Winery, Robert Mondavi, Maison Joseph Drouhin and Jackson Family Wines. He has produced over 50 wines with scores of 90 points or higher from major wine publications.

An initial portfolio of four wines has been developed, inspired by Robinson’s songs. The portfolio includes “My Girl,” a Santa Barbara Chardonnay; “Being With You,” a Central Coast Pinot Noir; “Cruisin’”, a North Coast AVA Red Blend; and “I Second That Emotion,” a Napa Valley Cabernet.

“We are very excited that Smokey Robinson will be visiting Boise. If the public would like to meet him, try a sampling of his wine and/or have one of his bottles of wine autographed, they simply need to show up at one of the store locations during the scheduled times,” said Albertsons spokesperson Kathy Holland.

Robinson is scheduled to appear at the Albertsons store at 1219 S. Broadway Avenue in Boise from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and at the Albertsons Market Place store at 3499 E. Fairview Avenue in Meridian from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
