Ahead of local city elections coming up Tuesday, Nov. 7, Ada County is seeing a large number of residents voting early.

Nearly 900 people have voted early. The county has also mailed around 2,500 ballots, and more than 700 have been returned.

Election officials say its mainly because they've made a big effort to reach voters in convenient locations and times.

"We know that on a Tuesday, people have busy lives, whether that's their kids, work, or other things," said Phil McGrane, Ada County Chief Deputy Clerk. "So, we want to make sure there's ample opportunity for people to be able to cast their vote."

Early voting will be available Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ada County Elections Office.

Early voting will continue through Friday, Nov. 3.
