Meridian Public Works Week returns June 8-14

MERIDIAN, Idaho — The City of Meridian Public Works Department is hosting the 11th annual Public Works Week in Meridian through June 14.

Back by popular demand, the Poop Scoot Fun Run kicked off the week of family-friendly events on June 8. All events are intended to enhance the community's understanding of the importance of public works infrastructure, operations and the employees behind it all.

"Public Works Week is a great series of events that allow us to share with the community the important work we do," said Meridian Public Works Director Dale Bolthouse. "Dedication by department staff and our business partners is evident in the week of fun and educational events."

The Public Works Week activities below are free and open to the public:

  • Monday, June 10: Residents will get a behind the scenes look at Public Works. Tour goers will have the opportunity to step inside the historic water tower, learn how the City drills for drinking water, watch a hydrant flushing demo, tour the Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility and more! This event is sold out, but those interested are welcome to register for the wait list and will be notified should seats become available.
  • Wednesday, June 12, 4pm - 7pm: Public Works Expo at Meridian City Hall - This family-friendly event is both fun and informative for people of all ages and will feature live demonstrations, kid-friendly interactive displays,large equipment exhibits, food, giveaways and more.
