MERIDIAN, Idaho — A Meridian man is in the Ada County Jail for one felony count of Malicious Harassment and one misdemeanor count of False Personation, according to a release from Meridian Police. Jeremiah Anderson, 38, was arrested by Meridian Police on August 19.

Just before 10 a.m., Meridian Police Officers were called to a fight at a home in the 300 block of Cherry Lane. When they arrived, officers contacted Anderson, who provided officers with a fake name and date of birth.

Officers spoke with the victim, a Black man, who said Anderson approached him, "called him racial slurs and repeatedly threatened violence upon him because of his race," according to the release. The victim also said Anderson does not live in the neighborhood.

Police said other witnesses confirmed the victim's account and Anderson used racial slurs and threats in the presence of officers. Anderson was arrested and taken to the Ada County Jail on the above charges.
