National Ice Cream Day celebrations stretched to the Meridian Library Sunday, where some of the Treasure Valley's youngest residents got to create their own sweet treats.
The kids learned all about the science behind the summer staple and of course taste tests were in order! Library managers were hoping to make the whole experience deliciously educational.
"We wanted to go beyond just serving ice cream and we wanted to teach people a little about the science behind ice cream," Meridian Library District Manager Megan Egbert said. "We are actually having people make their own ice cream today! Everything from the ingredients, to the cooling. They have to shake it themselves within ice and salt. We wanted to make it a little more educational but still a fun way and something fun to do at the library."
The library has lots of other fun events like this one planned! For more information and a calendar of events, you can visit their website.
