Coldwell Banker's "National Adoption Day" at Meridian Canine Rescue introduced folks in the Treasure Valley to cuddly canines looking for forever homes.
The family-friendly event featured a bounce house, Dutch Bro's drinks, and $50 off adoption fees.
Fees were waived, however, for four special dogs who have had trouble getting adopted.
"Some people expect to have a magical moment when they come in with the dog. That doesn't always happen. Sometimes you have to take time and earn a dog's trust, and with the four dogs we're trying so hard to get into homes, that's the case," said Meridian Canine Rescue staff member Allie Bartholomeus.
Aside from forever homes, staff at the rescue say their biggest need is for volunteers to help with dog walking and short-term care.
