Meridian Police looking for possible enticement suspect

The Meridian Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a possible enticement suspect who reportedly approached three teenage girls on Halloween night. 

Officers responded to a call of a possible enticement that took place about 8:30 p.m. Monday Three female juveniles, all fourteen years of age, reported they were out trick-or-treating. Whey were walking through the parking lot of the Capital Christian Center, in the 2700 block of E. Fairview Avenue, they noticed a male suspect sitting in a silver four-door car in a gravel area on the north side of the church.

“The male exited his vehicle and walked towards the girls and said, “Come here” while reaching towards them,” said Meridian Police Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea. “The three girls then fled through an open field near the church.”

The vehicle was described as a possible four-door silver Mazda, with aftermarket pink and purple lighting around the dash, Basterrechea said. The suspect was described as a Caucasian, in his early twenties, approximately 5-feet 10-inches tall, with shaggy brown hair, a larger athletic build, and a red complexion, with advanced or obvious acne. He wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, and dark blue jeans, he stated.
