Meridian Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who attempted to steal a cash box from the La Quinta Inn on South Allen Street in Meridian.

It happened about 3:50 a.m. Monday, when the suspect was spotted by a hotel employee attempting to steal the cash drawer.

When confronted, the suspect left the drawer and ran out of the building.

Investigators say he was an adult white man in his thirties, about 5-feet-11-inches tall with a thin build, and what was described as “short, dark brown, shaggy hair, with a five o’clock shadow.”

“The suspect was wearing a dark grey T-shirt with block lettering, and dark blue basketball shorts with a stripe down the side,” said Meridian Police Department Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea.

If you have any information on this crime or you can identify the suspect, please call the Meridian Police Department at 888-6678.
