A Jerome man accused of shooting a victim and leaving him for dead in the Idaho desert has pleaded guilty.

The Times-News reports 25-year-old David Ceballos pleaded guilty to attempted murder in Lincoln County District Court on Wednesday in connection to the shooting of 29-year-old Francisco Javier Bravo-Martinez.

Bravo-Martinez was left for dead in the desert southwest of Shoshone after the Jan. 23rd shooting. He survived and is recovering from his injuries.

Ceballos is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 3rd. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend a fixed minimum sentence of 25 years or less.

A second defendant in the case, Antonio Gallegos, is still set for trial Feb. 1st.
