One man is dead and a woman hospitalized following a single vehicle rollover near Hammett Tuesday morning.
The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office says a red Ford F-250 was traveling westbound on Interstate 84, just west of Hammett, about 10:20 a.m.
Investigators say the driver somehow lost control of his vehicle. It slid into the median, then rolled onto its roof, then slid into the eastbound lanes of travel.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released, pending notification of family.
His female passenger was taken by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, there was blowing snow, decreased visibility, and a slight accumulation of snow on the Interstate at the time of the crash.
