BOISE, ID – The Ada County Croroners Office has released the name of the 19-year-old who died in a floating tube accident at Lucky Peak Sunday. Armin Cehic, a Boise resident died in the St. Alphonsus Medical Center from trauma to the head.

Ada County Sheriff’s Office’s deputies were called just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a floating tube crash with injuries on Lucky Peak.

A man was pulling his 19-year-old son and another man on a floating tube behind a ski boat on a narrow part of Lucky Peak reservoir near Goose Neck Bay when the floating tube swung towards the rocky side of the reservoir.

It appears Cehic let go of the tube as it swung towards the bank and he hit the rocks at the side of the reservoir. The other man held on, and the tube cushioned him as it hit the rocks.

Cehic was severely injured by the impact. The people on the boat got him and began CPR immediately. They got Cehic to Barclay Bay, where a doctor and then paramedics took over. He was pronounced dead at St. Alphonsus a short time later. The other man on the tube was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation and no citations have been issued at this point.

Officers said alcohol use was not a factor.
