Man arrested in two Meridian exposure cases

Posted

Meridian Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for exposing himself in two separate incidents.

Police say the arrest originally stems from an incident last October 21st, where a twelve-year-old girl was running in the area of South Locust Grove and East Lake Creek, in south Meridian. “The girl reported an older white vehicle driven by a white male in his early to mid-twenties stopped next to her. The male began to talk with the victim and then exposed himself to her,” said Meridian Police Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea.

Officers arrested Oles Pishchanetskiy, 26, of Meridian earlier this month on a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure after he was identified by the adult victim of an incident which occurred in a local parking lot in the early morning hours of December 10, 2015.

“During this investigation detectives recognized several similarities -- including the vehicle and suspect description -- between the two cases,” Basterrechea said.

Pishchanetskiy was charged with sexual abuse of a child under the age of sixteen/causing or permitting a child to witness act of sexual conduct.

Meridian Police are encouraging anyone who may have been victims in similar incidents involving Pishchanetskiy to call Detective Jim Miller at 846-7332.
