The storm is growing overnight and even though it's now a category 2; it's expected to bring catastrophic rainfall and storm surge.

On Thursday, two members from the Idaho chapter were heading to South Carolina with their new van to help with Hurricane Florence.

Diana Ochsner, of Jerome, and Don Nesbitt, of Mountain Home, are driving an emergency response vehicle to Columbia, SC.

It is a brand-new response vehicle that was unveiled Monday and then hit the road Monday night.

With Hurricane Florence hitting the east coast, multiple response teams have been deployed.

Most teams driving cross country are not sure what to expect, but they are preparing for the worst while hoping for the best.

Deploying teams and providing materials in these circumstances are expensive. If you'd like to support the red cross in their efforts, you can visit here.
