ISP investigates serious crash involving two Minidoka School District buses

Both bus drivers were flown to hospitals; students’ injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening

MINIDOKA COUNTY, Idaho — Idaho State Police are investigating a serious injury crash involving two Minidoka School District buses that occurred just before 6:15 a.m. Monday.

ISP says the crash occurred on westbound State Highway 25 near milepost 43, outside the city of Paul.

Seventeen students were on board the buses at the time of the crash. One bus driver had to be extricated, and both drivers were flown to hospitals by air ambulance.

Four students were taken to local hospitals by ambulance or private vehicles. The students’ injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to police

Superintendent Spencer Larson told Idaho News 6 that students who were not transported took shelter at a nearby home and were later reunited with their parents or guardians.

State Highway 25 remains closed in both directions at the crash site. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
