MERIDIAN, Idaho — A 20-year-old motorcyclist is dead after being involved in a collision with a pickup truck near Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian on Friday morning. No students were involved in the crash.
Meridian Police, the Meridian Fire Department, and the Ada County Paramedics performed life-saving measures on the rider following the crash, but those efforts were unsuccessful. The Ada County Coroner has since identified the victim as 20-year-old Landon Dela Rosa of Meridian.
The victim, who was wearing a helmet, was riding a Kawasaki sports bike north on Linder Road when a Jeep Gladiator entered Linder Road and the collision occurred.
Portions of the roadway in the area were closed as investigators collected evidence. The cause of death is still undetermined.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the Dela Rosa family as they organize a memorial for their late son.
