MERIDIAN, Idaho — After a standoff on Monday, the Meridian Police Department arrested a suspect wanted on multiple felony warrants.

Police say the suspect refused to comply with officer's commands and barricaded himself inside a home on West Loretta Street.

Roads along Loretta Street, between Linder and Molly Way, were temporarily closed as the Meridian Special Tactics Group (STG) responded to the situation.

Meridian Police say after several hours of trying to get the suspect to surrender peacefully, STG entered the home where they found the suspect unresponsive.

Meridian Police say he was transported to a local hospital and is currently on felony supervision for possession of a controlled substance. Once medically cleared, Meridian Police say he will be booked into the Ada County Jail on multiple outstanding felony warrants.
