Missing 19-year-old confirmed dead after search crews locate vehicle off Highway 21

An Ada County Sheriff's deputy confirmed to Idaho News 6 that the missing person, Elise Messerly, was found dead off Highway 21 in the Sheep Creek area by Lucky Peak Reservoir on Tuesday evening. Our deepest condolences go out to the friends and family of the victim.

Elise Messerly has been located by search crews in Ada County. Authorities declined to say if she was found safe.

"Out of respect for the family and ongoing processes, no further details will be released at this time," posted The Boise County Sheriff's Office via Facebook on Tuesday evening.

The Boise County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 19-year-old woman who may have crashed off Highway 21.

Elise Messerly has been missing since 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 20. Officials say her phone last pinged near milepost 18 on Highway 21, leading them to believe that she could have crashed somewhere after that.

Messerly was driving a 2012 white Toyota Camry, license plate 1A XIL7U. Police are asking anyone with information to call them at (208) 392-6670.
