A local artist is going to have an unusual canvas to paint a new mural!

The Boise City Department of Arts & History selected Jason Keeble, the co-owner of Trademark, to paint the first-of-its-kind mural right on the road! Keeble was chosen after a competitive call to artists process in April 2017.

The mural will be featured at the intersection of 8th and Fulton streets.

The colorful geometric pattern of blues and greens will serve as a pulse point along the 8th street corridor. Keeble says he hopes the work will offer a multitude of perspectives to people passing by it.

"The mural at 8th and Fulton is a chance to combine my love for painting and creating art in a public setting," Keeble said. "It is an opportunity to enhance the human experience while instilling a sense of place for this tucked away block in the heart of the city."

Keeble will have a budget of $9,000 to cover materials, and anything else he might need to work on the project.

Work on the mural will begin August 15 and will be finished on August 17. There will be a temporary closure of the intersection during those days.
