The Rattlesnake Creek Fire burning near highway 95 in Idaho County has forced level 2 and 3 evacuations for parts of Highway 95.

Level 3 evacuations mean that people in that area should leave immediately. The areas are from the county line (milepost 182) to Hillman Basin Road (milepost 178) on the west side of the highway. Smokey Boulder Road to Railroad Saddle is also closed. Level 2 evacuations mean that people should be prepared to leave at a moments notice. Those areas are from Boulder Creek Bridge (milepost 177) to Smokey Boulder Road (milepost 171) also on the west side of the highway.

The Salmon River Rural Fire Department and Idaho County have made arrangements for those getting evacuated. There is a temporary hospitality center set up at the Community Center in Riggins. The Red Cross is working on establishing a shelter at the Riggins middle and high schools. Animals can be housed at the rodeo grounds in Riggins. RV's and vehicles can be temporarily parked at the Riggins NRA office.
