BOISE — Saint Alphonsus is announcing that nationwide changes to Trinity Health's information technology and patient billing service workforce will result in 181 jobs cut at Saint Alphonsus Health System in Idaho.

On Wednesday, Trinity Health announced immediate and long-term changes to patient billing processes and its information technology workforce. The changes will result in the transition of 181 positions locally.

Of the 181 local employees affected, 127 are in hospital patient billing positions, and 54 are in physician practice patient billing positions. There are no Information Technology positions affected locally.

The patient billing positions for Saint Alphonsus Health System will be relocated to a service center located in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Trinity Health offers relocation assistance to those who decided to move, opportunities to transition to other jobs in their current locations, and also providing severance pay and outplacement services to those who end up leaving the system.

Workers impacted will have an opportunity to transition to other positions at all three service center locations located in Farmington Hills, Michigan; Kentwood, Michigan; and in Columbus, Ohio, said the statement from Saint Alphonsus.

Saint Alphonsus Health System said these changes will not be implemented until October 2019.
