Fairview Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Cole Road by Tuesday morning's commute. Crews will be working at the Cole-Fairview intersection Monday night to put the new lane configuration in place, according to the Ada County Highway District.

Once traffic is shifted to the south, Fairview Avenue at Cole Road will be reduced from five to two lanes. Lanes will remain closed on Fairview through this summer as crews continue to widen and improve the intersection. Work is expected to be complete in late August.

From now until the summer months:
-- Traffic at the Cole-Fairview intersection will be shifted south.
-- Lanes will be closed on Fairview Avenue 24/7 (reduced to one lane each direction just east and west of Cole Road)
-- Cole Road will continue to be closed just north of Fairview Avenue.
-- A temporary signal will direct traffic at the intersection with modified turning movements.

Signage has been placed throughout the project area for the past week to provide advance notice of the impacts and associated travel delays, according to an ACHD news release.

ACHD encourages drivers to plan ahead, give yourself extra time for travel, and consider using an alternate route.
