A Kuna kindergarten teacher is running towards her dreams. A dream, that will take her across the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Kim Thayer teaches at Silver Trail Elementary, but on Monday,  she'll be sprinting past one of her bucket list items, running in the Boston Marathon.

"I've been working towards it since 2011 and so it's been a long process," Said Kim Thayer a Kuna kindergarten teacher who plans to compete in the Boston Marathon.

The students and staff at Silver Trail Elementary are cheering her on, making a banner that hangs outside her classroom. Kim qualified for the famous race after finishing the "Freakin Fast Marathon" in Boise. The Boston Marathon is something special, many runners only get to dream of crossing the finish line.

"The whole course is filled with cheering people and that's one of the things I'm looking forward to most is hearing the crowd," said Thayer.

Kim admits the past winter put her behind on training for the 26.2-mile race but she knows she's going to do her best. For her students and everyone else, she has this to say.

"I would encourage people to set goals. Don't be afraid to dream big and work hard," said Thayer.

Kim flies out to Boston on Friday, the race is on Monday.
