Two-time Olympic gold medalist Kristin Armstrong was in town this weekend for the Twilight Criterium race, but now her focus is all on Rio and says she'll be taking no chances when it comes to catching the Zika virus.

The Boise athlete, is of course, competing in the road cycling events at the 2016 Olympic games. But the world sporting event has been overshadowed by concerns of high crime rates in the city and the Zika virus. Armstrong says she will be following her trainer's advice by wearing plenty of bug spray. She believes she will stay safe during the games and says the Olympic team is making sure things go smoothly.

"I feel we are pretty safe as athletes on the Olympic Village but again when family and friends are coming to town you just have to always watch it and their doing a great job with sending us tips and updates so I feel confident and just need to focus on the race in front of me," said Armstrong.

The Olympics start on August 5th.
