KUNA, Idaho — A juvenile who is accused of taking part in a February rape with three older Boise teenagers will be tried as an adult.

A grand jury indictment of 16-year-old Ulimwengo Lupango filed Wednesday indicates he has been waived to adult court. He faces a single felony charge of rape, along with 19-year-old Elias Lupango, 19-year-old Swedi Iyombelo and 18-year-old Mulanga Rashidi, who were also indicted Wednesday.

Police say on February 7 all four suspects raped an 18-year-old who had agreed over social media to meet with Iyombelo in Kuna. When she arrived, all four suspects forced themselves on her in a vehicle, according to police and prosecutors. Elias Lupango, Rashidi and Iyombelo remain in the Ada County Jail.

Ulimwengo Lupango appeared in court via video for his arraignment in adult court. All four suspects have another court date scheduled for March 22.
