BOISE, Idaho — It was standing room only for Japan Day at the Basque Center Monday.

Outside, people waited their turn for Japanese street food. Inside you could hear the sounds of traditional Tyco Drumming. Even the kids got a chance to beat the drums.

Organizers of Japan Day say the yearly festival is for everyone.

"A lot of people have been in Japan, and we talk about what their experience was, and then we can just kind of expand and really connect, and I think that connecting and sharing is the most important part," said Naho Nakashima, president of the Idaho Japanese Association.

Karate experts were also on hand this year, giving demonstrations to visitors.
