BANKS, Ida. — The Idaho Transportation Department will have flaggers controlling traffic at the intersection of Idaho Highway 55 and the Banks-Lowman Road on Sunday, July 7, to improve safety and mobility for holiday travelers.

ITD uses flaggers at this intersection during three summer holidays--Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. These weekends see an influx of traffic from the Central Mountains to the Treasure Valley. The heaviest traffic times are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ITD urges those who can to avoid traveling at this time or choose an alternate route.

Flaggers can be deployed to safely monitor traffic at the intersection and decide the best approach to move traffic efficiently. The flagging will cost $5,000.
