NAMPA — The Inspire Your RIde bike festival that Rolling H Cycles put together will happen at Lakeview Park in Nampa to showcase mountain biking with a pair of professional mountain bikers.

The festival will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and tickets are still available for avid mountain bikers to meet and learn from the pros, including world champion Sonya Looney.

"It's going to be a really awesome festival, we are going to have live music, a lot of amazing speakers and food trucks," said Looney. "I'm also here to do some riding with the people in the community and check out the great trails."

Both Sonya Looney and Boise native Fairlee Frye got into professional mountain biking by accident and in about a week Frye will travel to Switzerland to race in her first World Cup on August 9-11.

"You have a chance to tune in to Red Bull TV and I will be out there representing Idaho," said Frye.

Looney will be one of the speakers and she says that mountain biking teaches people life lessons like how to tackle fear, perseverance and how to have an active lifestyle.

"My speech tomorrow is how to live a high performance life," said Looney. "Mountain biking has been a microcosm for how to live a good life and how to help other people live a good life."
