Idaho State Police announce drug bust

DUBOIS, Idaho (KIVI) — The Idaho State Police are announcing a major drug bust of marijuana worth more than $3 million during a bust they say occurred on December 15 near the Eastern Idaho town of Dubois, Idaho

Police say they pulled over Jonathan D. Speckman, a 37-year-old man from Illinois. He was driving a a pickup with a trailer. During the traffic stop, police say a K-9 officer who was trained to recognize the smell of illicit substances alerted to the presence of drugs.

When they conducted a search warrant, police say they found more than 800 lbs. of marijuana. Speckman was booked into Clark County jail for trafficking marijuana.
