BOISE — Idaho Pizza Company, a locally owned franchise, goal is to always serve Idahoans the best pizza with the best customer service. But with COVID-19 shutting down dine-in restaurants, now more than ever, their focus is on serving their community.
"We’re just trying to bring our 'A' game every day with great customer service, great product and providing a service for people during this really tough time,” said Idaho Pizza Company's president, Bubba McNicholl.
Fifty percent of Idaho Pizza Company's business is dining in, but even with the tremendous loss of business, the restaurant's staff remains optimistic.
“The ability for us to continue to operate really falls on them," McNicholl's said. "I know there's concern and fear out there, but every day they inspire me. They show up to work with a great attitude, ready to go above and beyond to serve customers."
Cleaning has always been important to the restaurants, but now they've stepped it up to ensure customer and employee safety. They have added medical grade disinfectant, limited the time customers spend inside and extra cleaning all while trying to have some fun doing it.
“One of our stores put some fun songs together to sing while washing their hands. From anything to gangster paradise to Backstreet Boys, we're just trying to have some fun and find ways to smile," said McNicholls. "Although it is a very serious time, their perseverance has been pretty amazing through all of this."
Idaho Pizza Company doesn't expect to be making any layoffs. And, if there is a silver lining to all of this, it's that the restaurants have learned new practices they will keep in place even after COVID-19.
“There’s a lot of great practices that have come from this that will make our restaurants better and safer.”
Until further notice, the restaurants are open for takeout and delivery only. To find more information or a location near you, visit idahopizzacompany.com.
