A Boise man is in jail after police allege that he was driving while intoxicated and hit a bicyclist with his car.

Jeremiah Lally, 31, is charged with aggravated DUI, which is a felony, according to a news release from the Boise Police Department.

At around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the intersection of W. Rose Hill and S. Ruby Street in Boise after receiving a report of a hit-and-run accident. Police were told that a pickup truck hit a man on a bicycle before fleeing.

Officers and paramedics arrived and found the cyclist, who was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man was not named by police as of Monday, and his current medical condition was not updated.

Investigators later found a pickup nearby that “evidence indicated was involved in the crash,” according to the news release. Police then arrested Lally, believing him to be responsible for the crash.

Lally was booked into the Ada County Jail early Sunday morning, according to online records. As of Monday at noon, Lally was still in jail custody.
