Lawmakers and health care providers got to step into the shoes of a firefighter Saturday. More than a dozen were chosen to go through firefighter training at the Boise Fire Training Center.

The men and women went through four training courses which included cutting a car open, performing CPR and putting out man-made fires.

"Most importantly we want the public to know, and lawmakers to know what we do and give them that little glimpse and maybe they come away with that they are gonna be able to respond," said Tom Lovell, President, Professional Fire Fighters of Idaho.

The sessions were documented so the department can later have a building session with participants.
