A man has filed a lawsuit against two former Canyon County Jail deputies, claiming they attempted to incite an attack on him by other inmates while he was incarcerated.

Sergio Gonzalez filed the lawsuit in federal court in March against the former Canyon County Jail deputies, 46-year-old Corey Weathermon and 23-year-old Kade McConnell.

Weathermon and McConnell were fired in October -- and arrested in January -- following an investigation. McConnell is charged with felony solicitation to commit aggravated battery; Weathermon is charged with felony aiding and abetting the solicitation.

Gonzalez is seeking $75,000 in damages from each deputy and $250,000 from the county. He claims he received emotional distress, verbal abuse, character defamation, and threats of physical violence.
