Idaho Governor “Butch” Otter helped cut the ribbon for a new entrance to Eagle Island State Park located on Highway 44.

The new entrance is visible from the road with a large sign and green gate which will help accommodate additional vehicles following the newly installed winter snow park and zip line.

“We have been in talks about expanding the park and Eagle is working with that,” Eagle Mayor Stan Ridgeway explained. “We would like to see the development of maybe a dog park, some baseball fields, softball fields and other things here."

The old entrance off Linder Road will remain open until April 11th.
